Tucked under the Saulire mid-station, teetering above the steep section of the red Cerf piste, sits La Folie Douce, with its chic and sprawling terrace and its cavernous and stylish interior.

See and be seen in the sunshine on the terrace or snuggle down inside in comfort. Either way, food is served canteen-style, but be prepared for a long wait in line at peak times. Burgers, pasta, chicken and chips; it’s standard alpine food with added flair, catering to their hungry but style-conscious clientele perfectly.

With DJs and dancers on the terrace and a dash of chic, there’s certainly nothing else like it in the Meribel Valley. Take teenagers to prove to them that you’re still cool; trust me, everyone will be happy. Just make sure you can manage the red run when you leave…
